Our Vineyard....

Our vineyard is located on Lovedale Road in the Lower Hunter Valley. The property was purchased in 1987 and after several years of soil preparation the first vines were planted in 1990. The soil type on the land is clay loam over friable red clay.
 

 
 The varieties planted in 1990 were Chardonnay and Semillon, in 1991 Verdelho, Merlot and Shiraz. September 1999 saw the expansion of the vineyard with the planting of more Merlot. Our first vintage was in 1992, where we harvested a small amount of Semillon and Chardonnay. Our family and friends picked this fruit and we were all rewarded a few months later when the wine was bottled.
 
 Presently we have an average yearly crush of approximately 100 tonnes from the 15 hectares of vineyard. This extremely low yield results in very concentrated fruit, which, in turn, produces wine with exceptional flavour.
